At Aashayein Foundation, we observe uniformity in our operations and processes across the various chapters. This has been our key strength and helps us in scaling up the operations faster and maximize impact by learning from earlier experiences.

1. Sunday Breakfast Serving (SBS)
SBS is held every Sunday mornings at various orphanages / special schools / remand homes in and around Mysore. We serve breakfast to children at these places and also organize fun activities that bring joy to the children. Ex: Singing, Dancing, Drawing, Antakshari, Yoga or any other relevant activity.
This program has helped us help in understanding the needs and aspiration of children from the not so privileged sections of the society. This improved understanding helps in effectively implementing other initiatives.
2. Shikshana Abhiyana (SA)
Project SA is rolled out at various government schools in and around Mysore. Volunteers of AF-Mysore teach English, Math and Science through experiments to children between 5th and 10th standard at these schools.
3. Bachche Mann Ke Sachche (BMKS)
As part of BMKS, one of our high impact programs; we survey in our neighborhood to identify children who have dropped out of school due to reasons such as economic constraints, lack of awareness among parents etc. Evaluate cases wherein we can intervene. Speak to the family/children; admit those children to near by Government or Government aided schools. Then go on to regularly monitor their performance and offer additional educational guidance to slow learning children. We usually follow up to ensure continuation of their education till 10th std.

4. Summer Camps
We organize 5-6 day summer camps in rural areas of Mysore; regions wherein the concept of a summer camp is still unheard of. These camps are targeted at children between 5th std and 10th std. The objective of this initiative is to inspire the children to think beyond and create awareness on topics/subjects of relevance. We have been successful in conducting influential sessions on morale boosting and career guidance that have indeed resulted in positive change among the children.
Some of the common topics at our summer camps include:
- Hands-on science experiments
- Arts and Crafts
- Basics of computer
- Fundamentals of Mathematics
- Singing/dancing/skits
- Career guidance
- Field trip
- Sports are a means for team building
5. Talent shows
We have organized several painting competitions, talent shows (dance, skit, singing etc) which bring together children from various sections of society (mainstream and not so previleged) on a common platform. When we bring together children from various backgrounds and let them interact with each other magic happens. There is so much peer learning, confidence building and joy around which can rarely be seen otherwise. These activities, small yet effective in improving self confidence instilling a sense of can-do and I-am-as-good-as-anyone among children who lack such opportunities.
