Aashayein Foundation has been around for 5 years now and is active in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mysore. The Mysore Chapter of Aashayein Foundation, also known as AF-Mysore has been operational from 31st January 2010. We are a bunch of volunteers constituted from various walks of life working towards a common goal. We are Students, Engineers, Techies, Doctors, Academics, Businessmen – just about anyone who share the common vision.
What do we stand for
We live in a world that has come to accept financial growth as an indicator of the overall health of the individual, society and the nation at large. Given this scenario, more often than not, our sensitivities and social responsibilities towards each other and the society get sidelined. AF-Mysore is conscious effort and commitment towards betterment of the the individual and nurturing hopes among the not-so-privileged sections of the society. We believe in inspiring children to dream bigger and help them pursue it. We've agreed that ensuring quality education is a good way to get started.
How do we work
Almost all of us have a regular full-time job and AF-Mysore is an initiative that is largely driven by passion. We operate largely through pooling our collective resources - knowledge, social skills, technical/management skills, funds; invest them and our time in making the world a bit better than yesterday. We have both ongoing projects (all round the year) and special projects.
The organization's hierarchy is pretty flat. Members are called volunteers and we catch up regularly to discuss the ongoing activities and explore the possibilities for newer ones.
